Terms of Use
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) apply to the Choridoo iOS app and the Choridoo Family subscription. “We” and “us” mean the developer of Choridoo. By downloading or using Choridoo, you agree to these Terms and to Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the “Apple EULA”). If these Terms and the Apple EULA conflict, these Terms apply to the extent the Apple EULA allows.
1. The app
Choridoo helps you plan your home’s rooms and chores. Solo use on your own iPhone is free. The optional Choridoo Family subscription lets one household of up to 10 people share and sync its home, assign chores and approve completions across their phones.
2. Your license
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Choridoo on Apple devices you own or control, as allowed by the Apple EULA and Apple’s Usage Rules. You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, resell or redistribute the app, except where the law expressly allows it.
3. Choridoo Family subscription
- Plans: Family is offered as a monthly or yearly auto-renewable subscription. The current price in your currency is shown in the app before you buy and on Apple’s payment sheet.
- Payment: payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase. Apple processes all payments.
- Auto-renewal: your subscription renews automatically at the end of each period at the then-current price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Your Apple Account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
- Managing and cancelling: manage or cancel in Choridoo under Settings → Family → Family plan, or in iOS Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions. Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep Family until the end of the period you paid for.
- Refunds: refunds are handled by Apple under its policies. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. We cannot issue refunds ourselves.
- Price changes: if the price changes, Apple will notify you in advance and, where required, ask for your consent before the new price applies.
- One household: a subscription covers the one household it was bought for. The person who bought it is that family’s host. Family members use it without paying separately. The subscription is not shared through Apple Family Sharing.
- After a subscription ends: Family features may stay available for a short courtesy period, with reminders, so you have time to renew. After that, the family’s shared home becomes read-only until the host renews. Your home stays saved, and you can keep using Choridoo Solo on your own iPhone for free.
- Restoring: use Restore Purchases with the same Apple Account to restore a subscription on a new device or after reinstalling.
4. Accounts and families
Family sync uses Sign in with Apple. You are responsible for activity on your account and for keeping access to your Apple Account secure. The host decides who joins their family, controls people’s roles and can remove people. Everyone in a family can see the family’s shared home. Only invite people you trust, and only add children if you are their parent or guardian or have that person’s permission.
You can delete your account at any time in Settings → Privacy → Delete Choridoo account. If you host a family, deleting your account deletes the family’s shared home from our server. Deleting your account does not cancel an Apple subscription.
5. Your content
You own what you add to Choridoo, such as names, rooms, chores and photos. You give us only the permission we need to store and sync that content to provide the app to you and your family. You are responsible for your content and agree not to add anything illegal, harmful or that infringes someone else’s rights. Photos stay on the device where you add them and are not synced. How we handle data is described in our Privacy Policy.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse Choridoo, including by trying to access other families’ data, interfering with or overloading our servers, sharing invite codes publicly, getting around subscription checks, or using the app to harass or harm anyone. We may suspend or end access for accounts that break these Terms.
7. Availability and changes
We work to keep Choridoo and Family sync available, but we do not guarantee that the app or our server will always be available, error-free or compatible with every device. Your home is kept on your iPhone so you can keep using it without a connection. We may update, change or discontinue features. If we stop offering Family sync, we will give reasonable notice in the app, and your homes will remain on your devices.
8. Disclaimer
Choridoo is a planning tool. Chore suggestions, schedules and reminders are for convenience only; you remain responsible for your household, its safety and any work you do around your home. Except as stated in these Terms and to the fullest extent the law allows, the app is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost data or profits, arising from your use of Choridoo. Our total liability for any claim relating to the app is limited to the amount you paid for Choridoo Family in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer under the laws of your country of residence.
10. Apple
These Terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app, its content, maintenance or support, or any claims relating to it, except as stated in the Apple EULA. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms when Choridoo changes. The new version will be posted on this page with a new “last updated” date. If a change is significant, we will tell you in the app. Continuing to use Choridoo after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
